Visit to the Skocjan Caves on Friday morning
The Skocjan Cave system comprises numerous caves and passages, collapse dollies, natural bridges and sinkholes. It was created by the River Reka (which also means "river" in the Slovene language), which flows 50 km on the surface and then sinks into he karst underground, resurfacing again near the gulf of Trieste. In 2004 it was added to UNESCO's MAB (Man and Biosphere) programme as the Karst Biosphere Reserve. We weren't able to take any photos underground, but we captured some great memories!
